Bug question: True or false: The raptorial front legs of a cockroach are adapted for digging.?

Yes and no, globally no in fact:

In the Orthoptera, raptorial legs as such are found in mantids, but mantids do not dig much. Cockroaches don't have raptorial legs or anything too special about their legs in that respect. They would rather chew their way through, I don't think they dig much either.

However, still in the Orthoptera, mole crickets or Gryllotalpidae form a small family more or less close to the cockroach family. Are they the ones you are thinking of?

Mole crickets do have spectacular front legs adapted for digging, just like the other moles (mammals). These legs are not raptorial legs though. These 'crickets' do not live in houses like cockroaches. They can cause substantial damage in gardens. On the top of that, they can be quite noisy and annoying, but this help to detect them.Bug question: True or false: The raptorial front legs of a cockroach are adapted for digging.?
